Merck Millipore was looking for a turnkey solution in a tight timeframe. CRS cold storage was contacted to design, build, install and qualify a bespoke 2-8°C portable cold store at their offsite warehouse in Cork.
Project Brief
Merck Millipore contacted CRS looking for an ideal solution which involved two 20ft cold stores staked one, on top of the other.
The Challenges
There were many initial challenges that CRS was faced with. Due to the forklifts that were moving to unload pallets up and down the aisle, it was important that the both cold stores did not protrude into the aisle.
There was a very tight time frame as needed to be installed and qualified before the end of 2015.
The client provided CRS with a detailed user specification, making another challenge to meet the required spec while still keeping to the ambitious timeframe.
The Solution
CRS worked together with Merck Millipore to produce an ideal solution to their requirement, and one that could be installed within the tight timeframe.
The CRS team aimed to meet the client’s requirements for the project by putting together some different options with proposed layout drawings. Once drawings were finalised, CRS were under time pressure to procure the components required to manufacture the build.
CRS opted for one-piece refrigeration units cut down on installation time as they were CE marked and fully finished- saving the need for pipework ad cables to be fitted on site.
